she makes up for it in personality. So, the no-knead whole wheat Bittman bread was a success. After an initial rise of 24 hours, I folded in a handful of chopped walnuts and some sunflower seeds, spread the dough into a tin, slicked the top with olive oil and sprinkled it with a generous handful of poppyseeds. I let it rest for another 2 1/2

an experiment

Inspired by Shari, I wrote a spring manifesto a few days back. One thing I want to do this spring is find an easy, but tasty, everyday whole grain bread recipe, something akin to “birdseed” bread.
